Soxtober

Another October, another costume

n63600135_30524954_125Always wondering of what to do for Halloween. With the Red Sox in World Series I was Daisuke Matsuzaka last year. It was interesting walking around Georgetown last year. While I expected some people to recognize me as Dice-K, a whole lot more people identified me as the more obscure Hideki Okajima.

In the past I’ve played to my strengths for costumes. Last year I threw on some sheets and walked around as a Buddhist monk. Senior year at FSC I was a ninja. What will I be this year?

Right now I’m thinking about dressing up as one of the Crazy 88s from Kill Bill. I always look good in a suit.

October is also about post season baseball and the Red Sox are in the playoffs. I watched Game 2 of the ALDS with Dave and Mark over at Jimmy and Christine’s new apartment. It was a great game to watch and I haven’t had that much fun watching baseball in a long time. We all now have a new dance move thanks to Erick Aybar:

We call it the Aybar.

Saturday I went to Melanie and Jim’s wedding in Worcester. It was a really small affair- besides Mel’s college roommate I was the soul representative of Melanie’s college years. The ceremony took place in Mechanics Hall, which was just beautiful. Oddly enough this was the second wedding where there was an after party in the Bridal Suite. You would think Melanie and Jim had other things they wanted to do that night. I loss a bet that they wouldn’t get to that but I guess they did.

Well one more wedding to go this year and it’s shaping up to be one of the best yet.

Save A Horse, Ride An Asian

This has definitely has been the WILDEST week this entire summer. Let’s recap. Monday was the first night of SOAR. It was awesome having all of our OLs back around. I was dressed in a snazzy black suit. Everything went rather smoothly. Someone even commented that I was a sweetie in the surveys. Rock on. That night we went to Mat’s house where I became the life of the party. I walked in fashionably late and everyone in the party proceeded to take a billion photos of me. I felt like a star. Things that night heated up when Ashley, Chrissy, and Melissa asked for a lap dance… I never gave one before so I just did something where I shook my ass and took off clothes. I guess I did a good job because I got $10 out of the deal. After some drunken debauchery under the stairs Mat asks me if I wanna play strip twister… what kind of house is this!?!?! Tuesday I woke up with a headache so I decided to put on my glasses and cowboy hat for SOAR. After another great session, the party moved back into TH 404. I chilled with Melanie and Lindsay in my room… it was sure to cause a lot of rumors. It’s cool though- Lindsay and I used protection- but she did get mad when I didn’t go straight to bed ;-) Wednesday the OLs went up to Maine where we went on a boat ride- it was nice relaxing experience. A few of us had lunch at the Main Lobster Company, they make some mean fish sandwiches! That night we saw the Portland SeaDogs (Red Sox) play the Trenton Thunder (NY Yankees). It was an entertaining game, Bill got to go on the field for one of the many contests they had that night. It was an awesome baseball game, I haven’t seen one since I was a kid. The SeaDogs won 2-0. After a long ride back we were ready for Thursday’s session. I left early to see Christina in Boston, we went to see Guster play with the Boston POPS at Symphony Hall. We stood out from the old rich folks. They were dressed up and we were in t-shirts. But we did drink lots of classy drinks. Which reminds me- I need to buy some gin. After the concert we walked around Davis Square and got some food and drinks. Friday The crew went out for dinner at the 99. All I can say is best steak tips ever. After that I went to Phil’s campfire in Worcester, I met up with Jake and Devon (who I adore). Another fun night. Tonight I’m going to drive to Northfield to see the Comm/Media Faculty play at a show. It’s awful hot right now- I wish I have AC. Well this is my last week before I go to NY for July. I am organizing a last summer crew trip to see Frank Santos- the R rated Hypnotist. Here’s to the night.

Lazy Summer

Originally published at The Definitive Dmbosstone. Please leave any comments there.

I had a nice restful week. Or rather I was really lazy. I slept in a lot and stuff. On Thursday I went to see Noises Off! with the ol theatre guild crew. It was lots of fun. This weekend I spent time with Jonathan and James, two people I haven’t seen in a long time. Last night Dave, Sean, and I went to Jimmy’s party in the woods. It was fun also. Today I went to Worcester to see my cousin Mai graduate from UMass Medical. Another doctor in the Pho family now. Well I’m planning on taking a nap, I’ve a little tired from last night. Maybe I’ll be more productive this week.
